SEA URCHIN

Sea urchin is the story of the islanders from Malapascua, a Philippine island situated in the Visayan Sea. While most derive their livelihood from tourism, some still rely on subsistence fishing and natural resources to provide basic needs. During low tide, families gather to search for sea urchins, a free delicacy commonly found along the rocky ocean floor in both shallow and deeper water. Raw sea urchins are highly nutritional and taste like the smell of the ocean breeze with the texture of a delicate custard cream.
